Babar Azam gave a beautiful and heartfelt reply to an eight-year-old girl, who wrote an emotional letter to the Pakistan cricket team after their bitter semi-final loss against Australia in the 20-20 World Cup. Mohammad Haroon Suri, a young and passionate fan expressed how proud and happy she was of team’s performance in the six matches Pakistan played in the showpiece event.

Before the semifinal loss, the Men in Green had won five matches on the bounce and were the only unbeaten in the competition. In the semi-final against Australia, Pakistan crumbled and failed to win the match. Suri appreciated the team’s performance and also shared the roller-coaster of emotions she felt while watching them play.

“Dear Pakistani team. I am very proud, I love you Babar Azam. Well played everyone… nice batting, bowling. Yesterday in the match, I felt proud that Pakistan is going to win. Then in the middle, I was nervous and in the end, I was frightened. Inshallah, in the future, we will win and I will make sure to invite all of your team to my team.

Suri also requested Babar to sign the letter and get the signature of the other team members. “Dear Babar, Please on paper, can you write all your team members’ signatures and send them to my house please,” she added.

The Pakistan skipper obliged the young fan’s request and addressed her as the ‘future captain of the team. In an adorable manner, Azam also requested for her autograph.

“Dear Mohammad Haroon Suria, Salam. Thank you for such a kind letter for us, champion. I ABSOLUTELY believe in you, and you can achieve anything with your focus, belief, and hard work. You will get your autographs, but I can’t wait to get YOUR autograph future Captain,” wrote Babar.

In a world where fans are quick to criticize the team for one poor performance, Suri’s positive letter is winning hearts all over the world.
