‘Galat kya bola Akhtar ne’- Twitter supports Shoaib Akhtar after a viral video explains the reason behind M Shami’s ‘Karma’ tweet

After the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 between England and Pakistan, Mohammed Shami and Shoaib Akhtar had a rough exchange of words. It all started with the former’s reply to Akhtar’s tweet. Apparently, the former Pakistan speedster, Akhtar, had used broken hearts emojis to express his pain after his national side lost the 20-20 World Cup 2022 final. In reply, Shami said “Sorry brother. It’s call karma.”

After this, Akhtar replied with a screenshot of renowned commentator, Harsha Bhogle’s tweet. The latter had praised Pakistan’s bowling after the summit clash. Meanwhile, the screenshot was captioned “And this what you call sensible tweet.” These words had started a war of words on the micro-blogging website and the fans were left wondering. However, things became clear when Akhtar’s video after India’s semifinal loss resurface.

In the video, the ‘Rawalpindi Express’ had said that Shami is a good bowler in other formats but not in T20Is.

“India ko apni captaincy dekhni hogi. Management has to take the blame. Bowling department main confusing selection ke saath Shami ko uthake leke aaye achanak hi. Ache fast bowler hai but banta nehi tha (India need to see their captaincy. Management has to take the blame. There were a few confusing selection in the bowling department, like one with Shami, who all of a sudden was picked. He is a good bowler, but he didn’t fit.),” he said in that video.

After a while, some fans started bashing Shami as they feel that Akhtar didn’t say anything wrong. Notably, the Indian right-arm pacer wasn’t the first-choice bowler in the team. However, due to Jasprit Bumrah’s injury, the Indian Cricket Board was forced to look towards Shami.
