‘Give him time to find it please’ – Former English batter comes in support of Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill has failed to impress the crowd.

Former English batter, Kevin Pietersen comes in support of Shubman Gill who has been criticized for his bad performance in the ongoing Test series between India and England. In the absence of Virat Kohli, Gill was supposed to take charge of the team. However, he has failed to do so. In three innings, he has scored 23, 0, and 34 runs. With such a low performance, Gill has failed to impress the cricket experts, former cricketers and the crowd. However, Kevin Pieterson compared him to Jacques Kallis and said Gill needs time to improve himself.

Pietersen tweeted, “Kallis averaged 22 in his first 10 Tests and turned out to be arguably the greatest player to play the game. Give Shubman Gill time to find it, please. He’s a serious player!”

With the return of Kohli in the 3rd Test, if Gill fails to perform in the second innings of the 2nd Test, he will be replaced by his idol. The selection committee is set to announce the team for the last three Test matches after the Visakhapatnam match. All the Gill fans are hoping for a good comeback from him in the second innings to book a spot in the next match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scores a double century

Even though the entire Indian batting line-up has been shattered like playing cards, Yashasvi Jaiswal managed to score a double century on day two of the 2nd Test match between India and England. England managed to bowl out India on 396 runs, out of which Jaiswal has scored 209 runs. He played a beautiful innings which included 19 boundaries and seven sixes. Jaiswal at the end of day 1 spoke about how Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid instilled confidence in him before he went to bat and that motivated him to score more.

Jaiswal said, “The pitch played a bit differently, in the morning it was a bit damp and then it settled. With the older ball, there was some bounce. Rahul sir and Rohit bhai kept giving me the confidence and told me to convert this into a big innings, and stay till the end.”
