India is the most successful team in the tournament, winning the trophy 7 times, followed by Sri Lanka, who has won the title 5 times.

Pakistan was set to host the tournament, but it was later decided that the hosts for the 15th edition would be Sri Lanka given that India won’t travel to Pakistan for the series. The tournament was set to be staged in June last year but had to be postponed as India qualified for the Test Championship final. The tournament was also postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic.
