‘Haa lafda krne me mazza to aata hi hai’ – Fans react as Naveen-Ul-Haq opens up on his experience in IPL 2023
After a heated match with Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last home game, Lucknow Super Giants is hosting Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana Stadium on Wednesday. Ahead of the game, Star Afghanistan bowler Naveen-Ul-Haq opened up about his experience in the Indian Premier League. Notably, this is his first season in the cash-rich league and he has been phenomenal throughout the tournament.
In the last game against RCB, Naveen clinched three wickets, while also scoring 13 runs in a low-scoring game. After the match, he was seen having a heated argument with former India skipper Virat Kohli. However, speaking with broadcasters, Naveen spoke about his journey in the IPL. Naveen said that he is happy that franchise cricket is grooming him as a player and it has been a great experience in IPL.
He said, “Great experience for me coming from Afghanistan and being a fast bowler. Playing franchise cricket helped me come here and do well for the team. Always helps when you come to a stadium and don’t feel like a stranger. You know what red soil does, and what black soil does. Black soil gives you more help with the cutters, red soil gives you more bounce. (What does LSG need to do better) Hopefully, if we are chasing we can score the runs today.”
IPL fined Naveen-Ul-Haq for verbal spat with Virat Kohli
In their last game against RCB, LSG players, including mentor Gautam Gambhir, indulged with Virat Kohli in a verbal spat. The aggressive celebration of Kohli and continuous sledging on the ground created an environment that burst after the game. Kohli fought with Naveen, Kyle Mayers, Amit Mishra and Gautam Gambhir. Their ugly fight has made headlines in the last two days.
However, IPL fined all of them who were involved in the verbal banter. In a press release, IPL informed that Virat Kohli and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir have been charged 100% of match fees for breaching Level 2 of the code of conduct under article 2.21 of IPL. Meanwhile, Naveen-Ul-Haq has been fined 50% of match fees as he was found breaching level 1 of the same code of conduct.

Stay calm Naveen. Apparently you are known to create controversies.

He should be never forgiven for laying his hands on Indian Cricketing legend Virat Kohli, Imagine some bowler like Naveen doing this to Sachin Tendulkar or MS Dhoni when they were 35 ?
Don't prioritise IPL over Team India.
