Playing their debut season in the Indian T20 League 2022, Gujarat have been nothing short of outstanding. They are playing formidable cricket and are currently sitting at top of the points table. Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, Gujarat have managed to win 8 matches out of 10.

Gujarat boast of an outstanding bowling unit. The likes of Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson and Rashid Khan have all delivered outstanding performances with the ball. The batting unit didn’t look a formidable one prior to the start of the season. However, the batsmen haven’t disappointed the fans either.

Skipper, Hardik Pandya, too, has led from the front. He is batting up the order and is currently the team’s highest run-getter. In 9 matches, Pandya has managed to score 309 runs at an average of 44.14.

Before the ongoing season, Pandya played only for Mumbai in his career since his debut in the Indian T20 League. During his stint with the most successful franchise, he made some close friends and Kieron Pollard is certainly one of them.

Recently, in a video shared by Gujarat on their social media platforms, Hardik Pandya named Kieron Pollard as one cricketer he wishes to have in his Gujarat team. However, he also added that he knows it’s unlikely that it will happen in future.

“I wish Polly (Pollard) to have the best day for him, but we win. I kind of messaged him a few days back as well that hope you’re okay and hope you’re doing well. I said we kind of miss you here. In a joking way, I said ‘You never know, you might come to us next year!’ It’s my wish but I know it’s never going to happen,” said Hardik.
