‘He didn’t deserve this’ – Fans react as only 2 journalists attend IND vs AUS T20I series press conference with captain Suryakumar Yadav

The Indian cricket team is all set to welcome a new captain in the T20Is and it is none other than India’s number one T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav. India’s white ball captain Hardik Pandya will not be able to participate in the 5 match T20 series against Australia. After India’s loss in the final of the ODI World Cup, a lot of people lost hope and only two journalists were present in the pre-match conference which amazed Suryakumar Yadav.

With the presence of only two journalists in the conference Suryakumar Yadav did not have many questions to answer and the press conference came to an end in four minutes which is unlikely as the India captains are used to long press conferences. Considering this is the first for Suryakumar Yadav it was quite shocking for the new team India captain.

Suryakumar Yadav on India’s campaign in ODI World Cup 2023

“It is a little disappointing. In the end, when you look back at the journey, it was a great campaign. Every member, not only the players, but all of India was very proud of the way we displayed our talent on the ground. That was the positive, and the brand of cricket that we played throughout the tournament. And we are proud of that,” said Suryakumar Yadav in the press conference.

“It is difficult. It will take time. It can’t be that you get up the next morning, and forget everything that happened. It was a long tournament. We would have loved a win. But you have to look at the light at the end of the tunnel. You have to forget and move on. It is a fresh team, with new boys and new energy. So, we are looking forward to this series,” he added.

“That is one thing that will set an example for youngsters. What he has done in the World Cup was a completely different Rohit Sharma – he walked the talk. What was spoken in the team meetings, he did that on the ground. As a leader, he led by example and we will try to replicate the same thing,” said Yadav.
