However, fans got tension during the game when Star India batter Virat Kohli was seen crumbling due to a knee injury.
While taking a catch of Vijay Shankar in the deep Virat Kohli hurt his knee and was seen limping on the ground. With some efforts from physio and support staff Kohli left the field and watched the final overs from the dugout. Notably, Virat Kohli will be a key player for the Indian cricket team in the upcoming test championship finals. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar gave a massive update on his injury.
Speaking in the post-match press conference Bangar said that Kohli had a niggle but it doesn’t look serious. “Yeah, he had a bit of a niggle in his knee. But I don’t think there is anything serious,” Bangar said in a post-match press conference. Notably, with this loss RCB’s dream of winning their maiden IPL trophy once again shattered.
Virat Kohli smashed back-to-back centuries
Earlier, in the game, RCB were called to bat first and they started well. Opener Virat Kohli along with skipper Faf du Plessis added 67 runs for the first wicket. Faf in his innings scored 28 runs off 19 balls with the help of five boundaries. After his departure, Kohli single-handedly took his team to a respectable total.
Kohli in his innings scored unbeaten 101 runs off 61 balls with the help of 13 boundaries and a six. This is Kohli’s second consecutive century as he becomes the second Indian to do so. With this century Kohli becomes the first player to score seven centuries in the history of the Indian Premier League. Now, Lucknow Super Giants will face Mumbai Indians in the eliminator and Chennai Super Kings will face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 from Tuesday.
