Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to join his Manchester United teammates in their pre-season. As per reports, Ronaldo is still seeking a way to get out of the club and he has already informed the club hierarchy about it. Several clubs like Chelsea, Napoli, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid got linked with him in recent weeks.

But still, no clubs have shown any advancement in the talks of recruiting him ahead of the next season. For the last few days, several reports suggested that Atletico Madrid might consider him. They are the most suited club as per his desires as this Spanish club can offer him Champions League football. He is already aware of that city from his earlier days in Real Madrid, their arch-rivals.

Atletico Madrid fans have launched an online campaign against Cristiano Ronaldo

Even, the Spanish outlet Diario AS reported that, that Ronaldo himself has managed to convince the head coach of Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone to recruit him for the next season. But, the fans of this club did not like that idea as they launched an online campaign to urge their club not to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. The Portuguese superstar played for their rivals Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018 and that made these fans so much angry about the rumours of him joining them.

They even became united behind the hashtag #ContraCR7 [AgainstCR7] on Twitter to voice their opposition to the club signing Ronaldo.  Speaking of Cristiano Ronaldo, he still left one year of his contract at Manchester United. He is reportedly keen to play Champions League football and he is looking to move away from the Red Devils. However, the Dutchman is still unsure if Ronaldo would return to training this week. “I cannot tell you. Not yet,” Ten Hag added. United will take on Atletico Madrid, coincidently in their next pre-season friendly in Oslo, Norway on 30 July 2022.
