Former India legend, Sunil Gavaskar compares Afghanistan’s keeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s batting to MS Dhoni. Gurbaz is a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and might be a part of their playing 11 in the upcoming IPL season. Moreover, his daring style of play and his explosive batting ability had drawn Gavaskar’s attention.

While talking on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “I have liked Gurbaz’s batting a lot based on whatever I have seen. He is extremely aggressive, and his batting is like a slight copy of MS Dhoni, and that is why I probably like it.”

During the 2023 IPL, Gurbaz scored 227 runs at an average of 20.64 in 11 innings. He only scored two fifties, the best occurring at the Eden Gardens against the Gujarat Titans when he hammered 81 runs off of 39 deliveries. Gurbaz was up against Jason Roy for the remaining spot, while Mitchell Starc, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine are predicted to take three of the four foreign spots. Moreover, it will be intriguing to see the team’s combination of KKR in the 17th edition of the IPL.

KL Rahul ruled out of the 3rd Test against England

The 3rd Test between India and England will start on February 15, in Rajkot. However, India received a huge blow as KL Rahul was ruled out of the Test match owing to a knee injury. The selectors have kept him in the squad for the last three Test matches considering his injury. However, he’s been excluded from the team for the upcoming match.

In place of Rahul, Devdutt Padikkal has been announced as the replacement for the 3rd Test. It is a dream Test match for Padikkal as he will make his debut against England. Moreover, with the absence of Virat Kohli, Kl Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, India will require an in-form batter to hold the innings in the middle order. Considering Padikkal’s recent form, he’s the best choice for India.
