Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz carefully deliberated before expressing his preference for Indian cricket star Virat Kohli over Pakistan’s Babar Azam when it comes to cover drives. Kohli and Babar, both regarded as among the finest batters in world cricket, maintain a healthy ongoing rivalry. The legendary India batter is widely considered one of the most accomplished batters of his generation. He faces competition from the former Pakistan skipper, who has excelled across formats in the past two years. In an ESPNcricinfo Q&A session Gurbaz opted for T20s over T10 and selected MS Dhoni over the emerging talent Rinku Singh to conclude an innings.

The 22-year-old also faced various non-cricketing questions about movies and food, providing intriguing choices along with sound justifications for each. In the ESPNcricinfo Q&A, Gurbaz favored Afghanistan’s triumph against Pakistan over their victory against England at the 2023 ODI World Cup. The Afghan team garnered attention for their impressive World Cup campaign, surpassing expectations by winning four out of nine games and securing a sixth-place finish.

Notable among their achievements were upset victories over Pakistan and England, prevailing by eight wickets and 69 runs, respectively. Despite Gurbaz experiencing an inconsistent tournament, amassing 280 runs at an average of 31.11 and a strike rate of 98.93, both of his half-centuries occurred in the wins against England and Pakistan. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 80 off 57 against England and 65 off 53 against Pakistan.
