Iceland Cricket trolls Australia for their batting collapse against India in ODI WC 2023
India and Australia locked horns in the sixth game of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. In the game, the visitors, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a poor start as Mitchell Marsh was caught at slips by Virat Kohli off Jasprit Bumrah. At 5/1, the likes of Steve Smith and David Warner put together 69 runs for the second wicket.
Kuldeep Yadav removed Warner as the former took a caught and bowled. On the other hand, Smith was removed by a peach by Ravindra Jadeja. After this wicket, the five-time winners had one of the worst collapse of their lives. From 110/2, the team went to 165/8. Thanks to the batting contributions from Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc helped the team reach 199 all-out, although they looked like getting 200 plus.
After the first innings, Iceland Cricket, famous for taking digs at other teams on Twitter, made fun of the Aussies.

India beat Australia by six wickets
In reply, the home team had a poor start as they lost three wickets for two runs. While Rohit Sharma got a peach from Josh Hazlewood, the likes of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer played poor shots. However, the likes of former India skipper Virat Kohli and KL Rahul put together 165 runs for the fourth wicket. During this, Marsh dropped an easy catch of Kohli. That proved to be a costly affair for the Aussies.
After surviving a few overs, both players started taking down the opposition bowlers. Kohli (85) looked like getting his another ODI hundred but was caught by Marnus Labuschagne when the team needed 33 runs. After this, Rahul stayed till the end and scored 97 not out. When the team needed five runs, he was on 91. He tried to score a four but timed the ball too well to help the team win the game.
