‘India ka future sahi haathon mein hai’ – Fans react as Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes youngest Indian to score fastest T20 century in Asian Games 2022

India and Nepal recently encountered each other in the quarter-final one match of the 19th edition of the Asian Games 2023 on 2 October, Monday at Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou, China. India won the toss and chose to bat first, and set a high target on the board. 

India’s opening batsman, Yashasvi Jaiswal, scored a brilliant century with 8 fours and 7 sixes. Yashasvi Jaiswal became the youngest Indian cricketer to score a century in T20 cricket, and also became the fastest batsman to achieve this feat. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s striking triumph saw a sad ending as soon as he reached the milestone as he got caught by the short third man. 

The Indian cricket team’s middle order batsman Rinku Singh, put a decent amount of runs on the board. Jaiswal and Rinku Singh scored 100 and 37 runs off 49 and 15 deliveries with a strike rate of 204.08 and 246.67, respectively. The middle-order batsman Shivam Dube also scored 25 off 19 deliveries and hit 2 fours and 1 six to lead India to a score of 202-4. 

India enter semifinals of 2022 Asian Games 

Nepal miserably failed to chase the target of 203 runs and India won the game. The team’s mid order batsman Dipendra Singh became the highest scorer for the team by scoring 32 runs off 15 deliveries respectively. India sealed an easy victory against Nepal by 23 runs. After the stellar victory against Nepal, the Indian cricket team is expected to move to the semifinals of the Asian games, 2023 men’s cricket event and will hope to win the gold medal for the country.
