India move up in WTC points table after defeating England in 2nd Test match
As India won the 2nd Test match against England in Visakhapatnam by 106 runs, they moved up the WTC points table. After the victory, India’s PCT became 52.77 as they went up to the second position. Moreover, before the start of the 2nd Test, India ranked fifth in the points table. They left behind South Africa, New Zealand and Bangladesh whose PCT is 50. In addition, Australia are leading the points table with a PCT of 55.
As the match went on to the fourth day, fans expected a lot of exciting innings from the England batters as they started their chase of 399 runs on a good note. However, the moment they lost Ben Duckett to Ravichandran Ashwin, wickets started falling at regular intervals. Zak Brawley, Tom Hartley and Ben Foakes gave their best to save the team, however, others failed them as a team.
Thus, England couldn’t convert their good start and went on to lose the match by 106 runs. With this India levelled the 5-match series, 1-1. This Test match belonged to Jasprit Bumrah as he took six wickets in the first and three wickets in the second innings. He was also awarded the Player of the Match.
