Indian Cricket Board is not happy with some players, as they think some of the players are not taking Ranji Trophy seriously. Some players want to  solely play IPL (Indian Premier League).

The Indian Cricket Board has issued a strict mandate for some cricketers, including some big names like Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya, and Shreyas Iyer. The board told them to report to their respective state teams for the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy as soon as possible.

According to Cricbuzz, The board felt that these players were not taking their responsibilities seriously. They must be available for domestic cricket as well, if they are not injured. Unfortunately, they are just waiting for the IPL (Indian Premier League) to begin.

‘Players cannot simply prioritize international cricket or the IPL’

The 25-year-old left-handed wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan had taken a break during India’s tour of South Africa. Fans criticized his decision for not being serious. He is currently practicing with Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya in Gujrat.

On the other hand, middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer is out of the squad for the rest of the series against England because of his poor forms. The recent mandate by the Indian Cricket Board  who strictly said that the players suffering from injury can go to the NCA (National Cricket Academy) in Bengaluru. Those who are not injured have to play domestic cricket.

As per reports, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya and Shreyas Iyer will be back for their respective domestic team quickly. They could all be seen in action on February 16. Krunal played for Baroda and Shreyas Iyer played for Mumbai. Baroda will face Uttarakhand in their next match and Mumbai will face Assam, respectively. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan’s Jharkhand will face Rajasthan in their next game.
