Former India skipper Virat Kohli is having great form with the bat in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. In the games against Pakistan and the Netherlands, he scored an unbeaten 82 and 62 respectively. Not to mention, he is yet to be dismissed. Meanwhile, his innings against arch-rivals, Pakistan will go down as one of the best in his career. The game was done for a lot of fans but Kohli made sure that wasn’t the case.

Just like a lot of fans and former cricketers, Roger Binny also watched the masterclass from the former India skipper. Notably, the former is recently anointed as the 36th president of the Indian Cricket Board. After the game, he said that Kohli’s innings was like a dream to him. The 1983 World Cup winner also said that the India-Pakistan game was the perfect one for the fans.

“It was like a dream for me. Couldn’t realise the way the ball was being hit in the park by Kohli. It was a fantastic victory. You never see such matches where most of the time the match was in Pakistan’s favour and all of a sudden it came back to India. Good for the game as it’s what the crowd wants to see,” BCCI president Binny was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Virat Kohli didn’t have to prove himself: Roger Binny

The former all-rounder added that a player such as Virat doesn’t need to prove himself and thrives in pressure situations.

“Kohli didn’t have to prove himself. He is a class player and players like him thrive in pressure situations, pressure brings out the best of them,” added Binny.
After playing the match-winning innings against Pakistan, the Delhi player scored 62 not out against the Dutch on a sluggish wicket at the Sydney Cricket Ground. India will play their third game of the Super 12 round on October 30 against South Africa. The right-hander would love to carry his form in this game.
