‘Indian Cricket is healing’ – Fans rejoice as Indian Cricket Board announce the sacking of entire selection committee
Indian Cricket Board has taken a groundbreaking decision to sack the entire selection committee. The decision has been taken after India’s semifinal loss in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Notably, it was recently reported that this development might take place soon. It seems that the board is really determined to make some changes to ensure the Men In Blue start bringing trophies.
Meanwhile, talking about the sacking, four national selection members of the men’s team haven’t received any communication about the decision. The members consist of Sunil Joshi, Harvinder Singh, Debabsis Mohanty, and their chief – Chetan Sharma. They are currently watching the games of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, India’s premier One Day tournament. Meanwhile, it is important to understand that the selection committee in India consists of five members.
Late last year, Abey Kuruvilla, completed his tenure of five years. After this, he was promoted to general manager (cricket development), but the board did not appoint his replacement. Last month, the outgoing selection committee named the squad for the tour of New Zealand and Bangladesh. This raised a lot of questions and eyebrows among the fans as selection committees don’t select squads for two series at once.
Some of the sacked members can still reapply for the jobs
Another notable part of this development is that some of the selectors such as Joshi, Singh, and Sharma are yet to complete their tenure of four years. They have completed their tenure of two years while Mohanty is on the verge of completing his tenure. The other three can re-apply for the positions.
Meanwhile, the Indian fans are extremely happy with the development. Apparently, the same selection committee had sacked former Inda skipper Virat Kohli from leadership duties in ODI cricket. Also, the fans have accused them of compelling the 34-year-old to resign from T20I and Test captaincy duties. Fans have expressed their joy with memes and shared their thoughts.

Virat Kohli back in form and everything looks better from social media to news channels to now BCCI sacking undeserving ones like Saurav Ganguly and Chetan Sharma. Indian Cricket is healing.

Reasons for Chetan Sharma's sacking (Reported by PTI):
– Not being able to make a settled squad with 8 captains in 1 just a year.
– Loss in Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.
– Picking KL Rahul after 8 months gap.
– Not picking domestic and IPL performers.
– Workload management.— Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) November 18, 2022
