Indian T20 League 2022: Top 10 memes form Lucknow vs Gujarat match

Lucknow took on Gujarat in the 57th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The match was played at the MCA Stadium in Pune and the venue provided a slowish and dry wicket assisting the bowlers.
Gujarat won the toss in and opted to bat first. Their start was slow but not steady. Wriddhman Saha (5 of 11) got out early in the third over of the innings. Matthew Wade (10 of 7), who made a comeback in the final eleven did not impress much either. Gujarat were 2 down for 24 runs within the fifth over. Hardik Pandya joined Shubman Gill in the middle and stabilized the ship to some extent. As Hardik Pandya (11 of 13) walked out, Gujarat was 52 for 2 down in 9.3 overs. David Miller replaced Pandya in the middle and brought the innings back on track with a 52 runs partnership with Shubman Gill. While other batters were finding it difficult to get going on a tough pitch, Gill held his patience and batted steadily at one end.
Miller (26 of 24) was dismissed in the 16th over when the team’s score was 103 runs. A late flourish by Rahul Tewatia (22 of 16) and Shubman Gill took Gujarat to a total of 144 runs in their 20 overs. Gill remained not out throughout the innings and played a resilient knock of 63 runs from 49 balls. Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Lucknow as he picked up 2 wickets for 26 runs from 4 overs.
Lucknow in their chase fell weak from the very beginning. The main batters in Quinton de Kock (11 of 10) and KL Rahul (8 of 16) were back in the hut within the fifth over of the innings. After this Lucknow never got back on track. The Lucknow bowlers lacked resilience and determination and fell like a pack of card. Only Deepak Hooda (27 of 26) showed some resilience and delayed the inevitable. He was the ninth wicket to fall for his team in the 14th over. Lucknow was bundled out for just 82 runs and Gujarat won the match by 62 runs. Only three batters crossed the double figure marks for Lucknow. Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Gujarat taking 4 wickets for 24 runs in 3.4 overs. With the comprehensive win Gujarat reclaimed the top spot in the points table while Lucknow slipped to number two. Hardik Pandya’s side also became the first team to qualify for the knockout stage.
