Indian T20 League 2022: Top 10 memes from Chennai vs Gujarat match

Chennai and Gujarat faced each other in the 62nd match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was the venue for the match.
Chennai won the toss and decided that they would like to set up a target for their opposition. Mohammed Shami gave Gujarat a great start by picking up the wicket of Devon Conway (5 of 9) in the third over of the innings. After the initial shock, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali steadied the Chennai ship. The duo stitched a partnership of 57 runs before Moeen (21 of 17) was dismissed in the ninth over of the innings. Ruturaj however, continued steadily at the other end and was trying to take Chennai to a par score. But he was dismissed in the 16th over of the innings by Rashid Khan. Gaikwad scored 53 runs off 49 deliveries hitting 4 fours and one six. He formed a partnership of 48 runs with N Jagadeeshan and ensured a foundation for Chennai where they can put up a decent total.
Jagadeeshan scored 39 runs off 33 balls. But the Men in Yellow could only manage a total of 133 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for Gujarat picking up two wickets for 19 runs from his four overs.
Gujarat looked comfortable with the effort in pursuit of Chennai’s moderate total. The openers got off to a great start. They scored 53 runs in the first six overs and put Gujarat on course for a comfortable victory. Shubman Gill was the first wicket to fall for Gujarat in the 12th over of the innings. He was dismissed by Matheesha Pathirana for a personal score of 18 runs off 17 balls. Matthew Wade replaced Gill in the middle and stitched an important partnership with Wriddhiman Saha. Moeen Ali however got rid of Wade (20 of 15) in the 12th over but Gujarat was still in a very comfortable position. Wriddhiman brought up his fifty of 42 balls and was guiding his team to a comfortable victory.
Gujarat lost one more wicket in the form of Hardik Pandya (7 of 6) in the 14th over. But the equation remaining looked comfortable with seven wickets still left in hand. Saha and Miller took things forward with care and ensured there are no undue slip-ups on the course. They needed 17 runs off the last four overs and a Gujarat win in the match from this position looked inevitable. Saha (67 of 57) and Miller ( 15 of 20) remained unbeaten and took Gujarat to seven wickets victory with 4 balls remaining in the match. It was Gujarat’s 10th win 13 matches, while Chennai lost their 9th match in 12 outings.
