Indian T20 League 2022: Top 10 memes from Mumbai vs Kolkata match

The 56th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 saw the arch-rivals in Mumbai and Kolkata take the field against each other. The match saw some good bowling performances as the pitch worked in the bowlers’ favor.
Mumbai won the toss and decided to field first. Kolkata was off to an electric start courtesy of Venkatesh Iyer. He took on the Kolkata bowlers from the very beginning. The south paw’s attacking innings saw Kolkata cross the 50 runs mark within the sixth over. Iyer played a fiery knock of 43 of 24 runs hitting three fours and four sixes. Kolkata was progressing with great momentum as Nitish Rana (43 of 36 ) kept up Venkatesh’s efforts. At one stage they were scoring at around 10 runs per over and looked all set for a formidable total. But around the 14th over mark, they faced a collapse which saw seven wickets fall for just 41 runs.
The collapse meant that Kolkata was restricted to 165 runs from their 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah revived his form and picked up five wickets conceding just 10 runs from his 4 overs. His efforts included a triple wicket over.
Mumbai’ chase began on a wrong note as they lost their skipper Rohit Sharma (2 of 6) in the first over of the innings. After the initial shock the Men in Blue and Gold never revived as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Ishan Kishan was the only resilient batter for the team. He played a steady knock of 51 runs from 43 deliveries and fought a lonely battle. Much alike Kolkata, Mumbai experienced a batting collapse and their chase fell apart. They lost seven wickets for 30 runs and lost the match by 52 runs. Form 83 for 3 at one stage Mumbai was bundled out for 113 runs in the 18th over.
Pat Cummins was the pick of the bowler for the Men in Purple as he picked up 3 wickets for 22 runs . This was Kolkata’s fifth win in 12 matches while Mumbai lost their ninth match in 11 outings.
