Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to take on Lucknow Super Giants for match number 43 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. RCB will be looking to settle the scores with LSG after they defeated them in their last encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium by chasing 213 runs in the last-ball thriller.

As both teams will be looking forward to going ahead in the tournament, we will have a look at the top three-player battles that can make the game more interesting.

Faf du Plessis vs Krunal Pandya

As spin will play an essential role on Lucknow’s black soil wicket, their spinner Krunal Pandya could be a pivotal player to take on RCB batters. While RCB skipper Faf du Plessis has a better record while playing against spin.

Du Plessis currently stands in the second position in the list of highest run scorers of the season and played a crucial role in giving good starts to his team. While Pandya has been quite impressive with the ball in the ongoing season so far. He can be a trump card for LSG to dismiss the RCB skipper early in the match.

Glenn Maxwell vs Ravi Bishnoi

Australian batter Glenn Maxwell has been crucial for RCB in 2023 who has been accelerating the innings in the middle overs and laid the foundation for a big total. However, his form goes up and down against the spin. He has been dominating the spinner at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, but he may struggle on the spin-friendly surface of the Lucknow pitch.

On the other hand, LSG spinner Ravi Bishnoi started off the season on a bright note but hasn’t been in great touch lately. He has taken four wickets in the last five games with an economy rate of over 10. While Maxwell has a great record against the leg 36 runs off the 17 deliveries played against them at a strike rate of 211.76. It will be interesting to see how he will fave Bishnoi on the spin-friendly pitch.

Marcus Stoinis vs Wanindu Hasaranga

Marcus Stoinis has been in great touch in the ongoing season and provided power to the LSG’s batting lineup at the middle order. He single-handedly took the game away from RCB with his innings in their last encounter.

While, RCB spinner Wanindu Hasaranga could play a crucial role in their bowling line up on a spin-friendly wicket. However, Stoiniss had an upper hand against the Lankan spinner as he scored 47 runs in the 20 balls he faced against him so far. While Hasaranga has dismissed him once though. It would be interesting to see how Stoinis take on Hasaranga in the middle overs.
