“Irony” – Fans Troll Shreyas Iyer As His Video Of Teaching ‘How To Play Pull Shots’ Goes Viral

Shreyas Iyer is currently busy playing the fifth rescheduled Test match for India against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. However, as of now, he failed to perform well in both innings as he got out for 15 and 19 runs respectively.

Speaking about the match, India dealt a major blow when they found out that Rohit Sharma will not be a part of the match due to a Covid-19 infection. Then, Jasprit Bumrah was appointed as the captain and he lost the toss as India was asked to bat first.

While batting first, India managed a score of 416 runs, thanks to hundreds from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. They both stitched a solid partnership of 222 runs for the sixth wicket on day one. James Anderson picked up five wickets again by conceding only 60 runs. In reply, England got bundled out for 284 runs. Jonny Bairstow was the lone warrior for them as he smashed his third consecutive hundred in the last three matches. Then, in the second innings of India, Shreyas Iyer came out to bat after Pujara lost his wicket. The Kolkata captain looked in good touch as he smashed some quality boundaries. But, he fell into the short-ball trap once again. Even, former Kolkata coach Brendon McCullum was seen signaling to bowl him short deliveries to his bowlers and the plan worked for England instantly.     

Interestingly, in both instances, he lost his wicket to a short ball. He went to play the pull shot and gave his wicket to English bowlers. Since the recently concluded Indian T20 League, he had been giving his wickets on short balls on a regular basis. 

Now, an advertisement video of Shreyas Iyer got viral on the internet where he is giving tips to young cricketers on how to play a proper pull short. Fans started to share the video as they trolled him and it went viral quickly.
