Is Virat Kohli Blocking The Path For Deepak Hooda And Sanju Samson In The Indian Team?
Team India is currently busy playing the three-match ODI series against England. However, the series is in a stalemate so far as both teams managed to win a game. Now, on Sunday, an exciting series decider awaits the teams. But, India is still having a major issue as their star batter, Virat Kohli is yet to be back in his best form.
Since 2019, 77 International matches are gone where he failed to score a ton. Now, questions are starting to rise as he is continuously getting selected for the playing XI despite his poor run of form. Even, talented youngsters like Sanju Samson, and Deepak Hooda are getting deprived of a place in the squad.
Sanju Samson has not been included for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies
After losing the second ODI match against England, the Indian Cricket Board announced the final T20I squad for the WI T20Is. Sanju Samson was not selected despite scoring a fantastic fifty against Ireland earlier this month. However, Deepak Hooda got a chance while Kohli was rested from any format of the game in that tour. As per reports, the Indian Cricket Board wanted him to play in that series. But, this veteran batter himself wanted some rest and for that, he got dropped. In the 50-over format, these young players are not getting any chance due to Kohli’s continuous inclusion.
Now, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria also blamed the Indian Team management for not giving any chance to these talented players by sticking with an off-form Virat Kohli. He also put allegations against them by stating that they are destroying their careers by not supporting them. Speaking on the Koo app, he said: “When world-class off-spinner Ashwin can be dropped then why not Virat where is Deepak Hooda why are the selection committee and management playing with careers of Indian talented cricketers.”
“Who is the person playing Ludo with Indian and fans of Indian team Arshdeep, Deepak Hooda and Surya (Suryakumar Yadav) need to give them full confidence that they are the backbone of Indian Cricket,” he concluded.
