‘Ise mein control nahin kar sakta’ – Fans flood Twitter with memes as Shubman Gill fan holding ‘Match Kara do’ placard goes viral

India’s opening batter Shubman Gill has been in a form of his life in the last month. From the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, he has hit three ODI hundreds (including his maiden Double ton) and maiden T20I hundred. Meanwhile, during the third T20I between India and New Zealand, a fan was seen holding an interesting placard.
The placard read ‘Tinder, Shubman se match kara do” (Tinder, match me with Shubman). In the same game, the 2018 U19 World CUp winner hit his way to his maiden T20I hundred. With this, he became the fifth Indian to score a century across all formats. Only Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Rohit Sharma did it before. Meanwhile, the girl holding the placard has been going viral on the internet.

Shubman Gill is part of the India squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Meanwhile, now that the white-ball series against New Zealand has ended, the focus will now shift to the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Home team, India has announced the squad for the first two Tests. Gill is part of the team with skipper Rohit Sharma and his deputy KL Rahul as openers in the team. However, Gill scored his maiden Test hundred in his last Test series against Bangladesh.
On the other hand, Rahul was having a forgettable time with the bat before going for a break for his wedding. Now, the Karnataka player has joined the team after doing some fitness sessions right after his marriage. Given the current form, Gill is most likely to open the batting with Sharma. Also, with Shreyas Iyer being ruled out of the first Test, Rahul might bat in the middle order. The game will be played in Nagpur, the city that is hosting its first Test since 2017.
