ISL: Bengaluru FC extends Gurpreet Singh Sandhu’s contract until 2028
India and Bengaluru FC goalkeeper, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has been given a contract extension for the next five years. He has been part of the team since 2017 and was part of the 2018-19 winning side. Sandhu has made 108 appearances in the Indian Super League (ISL). He is only behind Amrinder Singh. Notably, the contract has been extended in the middle of the ISL 2023-23.
Sandhu’s contract has been extended till 2028. The former champions are placed seventh and need a few wins to finish sixth to advance to the playoffs. Under the new format, the top two teams at the end of the league stage will automatically qualify for the semi-finals. The teams finishing between third and sixth will feature in a single-leg playoff to determine the other two semi-finalists.
