England have registered a big victory of 132 runs against Bangladesh in the ODI in Dhaka against Bangladesh taking an unassailable lead of 2-0 in a three-match series. A queer incident took place during the 48th over of England’s inning when Adil Rashid blocked the yorker, bowled by Taskin Ahmed, with his bat.

The Bangladesh players appealed for an LBW but the umpire refused as the ball was clearly seen touching the bat. But the skipper Tamim Iqbal wasn’t convinced by the decision and decided to go for a review. In replay, it was clearly shown that the pad was nowhere near the ball and Rashid blocked the ball with his bat. The incident has been talked about a lot on social media and the netizens have been trolling Iqbal for his DRS blunder.

Jason Roy’s hundred lead England to a big victory

Talking about the match, the Three Lions posted a total of 326 for 7 in their 50 overs, powered by the century by the opening batter Jason Roy. The 32-year-old scored 132 runs off 124 balls, including 18 fours and a maximum. He also added 109 runs with the skipper Jos Buttler for the fourth wicket.

Buttler got out after scoring 76 off 64 with five fours and two sixes. Moeen Ali and Sam Curran gave the finishing touches to the innings as Ali got out after scoring 42 off 35. While Curran remained unbeaten on 33 from 19 deliveries, Ahmed scalped 3 wickets for the hosts. While Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 2, Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam shared a wicket each.

Chasing the total, the Tigers didn’t have a great start as they lost the first 3 wickets for just 9 runs. Both Litton Das and Najmul Hussain Shanto were gone for a golden duck in the first over by Curran. Post that, Iqbal (35 off 65) and Hasan (58 off 69) took the charge and added 79 runs for the fourth wicket.

The hosts again started losing wickets at regular intervals and were, eventually, bowled out for 194 runs in 44.4 overs. Both Rashid and Curran scalped 4 wickets each, while Moeen took one. England are the only team to win an ODI series in Bangladesh twice since 2014. The Tigers have been a strong team in their home soil, winning 13 of the last 15 ODI series.
