‘Jinke ghar sheeshe ke hai wo’ – Fans react as England’s Barmy Army trolls Virat Kohli on scoring duck against England in ODI World Cup 2023

India has been all over England in the match between the two teams in the ODI World Cup 2023. Defending a target of 230 runs, India has England at 45/4. The devastating spells from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have left England in a shock. But it was not all good for India. Batting first, India was reduced to 40/3 by the England pacers on a seam-friendly wicket in Lucknow.
Virat Kohli was unfortunately dismissed for a duck by David Willey. It was a shock for the home crowd as they did not expect Virat to have a bad day. But what did not go well with the fans was the way a fan army of England trolled Virat for his performance in the match. ‘England’s Barmy Army’, the official account of England fans, trolled the Indian star batter on his failure against England.
The account of England fans photoshopped an image of Virat and attested it alongside a couple of ducks on a water surface. With it, the account wrote, “Just out for a morning walk.” The trolling of the England fans did not go well with the Indian fans. They replied it back by asking about England’s performance in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.
Indian fans reply to England fans with Joe Root’s reference
As the Indian fans replied to England’s performance in the tournament in the first innings, they got a better topic to talk about in the second innings. While Virat was dismissed for a duck in the first innings, England’s star batter was dismissed for a golden duck by Jasprit Bumrah. It was a crazy moment, which saw the crowd erupting in the stadium. Fans went berserk all around.
After Root’s dismissal, the Indian fans trolled the England fans. Indian fans used Root’s dismissal as a reference and trolled the Barmy Army. In the comments section of Barmy Army’s post on Virat, the Indian fans created the same image of Barmy Army, but attested to Root’s face, instead of Virat’s face. It has left England’s Barmy army in an absolute humiliation.
