‘Johnson kaha hai’ – Fans react as David Warner scores century in his farewell Test series against Pakistan
David Warner recently shut all his critics as he scored a century against Pakistan and his farewell test series of Pakistan’s tour of Australia. Warner scored 164 runs off 211 deliveries with a strike rate of 77.73 and hit 16 boundaries along with four sixes before he got caught by Imam Ul Haq.
The knock was an incredible reply by Warner to the critics who didn’t believe he deserved to be a part of the team. Recently Warner made headlines as the former cricketer Mitchell Johnson openly discussed that Warner should not be treated like a hero in his last test series, because of the sandpaper incident. Johnson’s remarks didn’t sit well with Warner and he gave him a fitting reply over a personal message which didn’t sit right with the bowler.
Johnson said, “I got a message from Dave, which was quite personal. I tried to ring to try and talk to him about it, which I’ve always been open to. I know I’ve been open to the guys when I finished playing. I said if I’m in the media and writing things or saying things that you don’t like, just come and speak to me.”
“It was never a personal thing then until this point. This is probably what drove me to write the article as well, part of it. It was definitely a factor. Some of the stuff that was said in that, I won’t say it. I think that’s up to Dave to say it if he wants to talk about it. There was some stuff in there that was extremely disappointing, what he said, and pretty bad to be honest”, Johnson added.
