Kane Williamson and Hyderabad players form a boy band, sing song ahead of Bangalore clash
2016 winners Hyderabad had a tough start to their campaign in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022. They lost their first two opening games against Rajasthan and Lucknow respectively. However, after the defeats, the Orange Army turned things around and won four games in a row. Currently, they are at the fifth spot in the points table. Ahead of their game against Bangalore on April 23, some of the team members formed a boy band.
Skipper Kane Williamson and batters such as Abdul Samad, Aiden Markram, and Glenn Phillips were part of the band. The name of the band is ‘The Hydera-Boogie’. They came up with a song which is inspired by Billy Joel’s “We didn’t start the fire”.
The initial lyrics of the songs were “ We are the SunRisers; We are from Hyderabad, We love Biryani, And our fans are called the Orange Army…”
Later on, the band went on to thank the team management, players, net bowlers, coaches, and physios with the same song. The franchise posted the video of the same on their official Twitter handle. The video was captioned “The new #SRH band 🎵, A special song from Kane Mama and co. at SunRisers Got Talent🧡#KaneWilliamson @AidzMarkram @glenndominic159 @ABDULSAMAD__1 #OrangeArmy #ReadyToRise #TATAIPL”.

Meanwhile, ahead of the game against Bangalore, Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik said that he wants to pick the wicket of Virat Kohli. The pacer further added that Kohli has asked him to work on his fitness and India cap is not far away from him.
“KL Rahul was one. We had a match against them. I really wanted to get him out. But next match we have against RCB so I want to get Virat Kohli out. I’m a big fan of both of them,” he said.
“Virat Kohli spoke to me and told me to work on my bowling and fitness. He told me to work hard and once you do that the India cap is not too far away. He said I will get my chance when the time comes,” Malik added.
