Kapil Dev blasts star Indian cricketer for his inconsistent performances

Rishabh Pant-led Indian Cricket Team is currently playing a 5-match T20I series against South Africa. South Africa are leading 2-1 in the series with 2 games still to be played. Senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah have all been rested from the squad. In their absence, a lot of young players have been selected in the team.
Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been given the task to open the innings, while Dinesh Karthik has made his way back into the team. Notably, Sanju Samson, who recently led Rajasthan to the final of the Indian T20 League, didn’t find a place in the squad.
Legendary Indian skipper, Kapil Dev, recently, talked about the Indian wicket-keeper batters such as Ishan Kishan, Dinesh Karthik and Sanju Samson. He termed all three as match-winners.
“All three can win the match for India on their own accord”, Kapil Dev said while speaking to Uncut
“To be honest, if I have to pick a better wicketkeeper between the three (Karthik, Ishan, and Samson), I would say they’re almost at the same level. I can’t say there is much difference. But in terms of batting, each one is better than the other. On a given day, all three can win the match for India on their own accord,” the former Indian captain added.
Kapil Dev later lashed out at Sanju Samson’s inconsistent performances. The former Indian skipper feels that Samson is a talented cricketer but hasn’t been able to deliver consistent performances.
“I am extremely upset with Sanju Samson. He is so talented. But the guy scores in 1-2 matches and then fails. Has no consistency,” Kapil told Uncut.
Sanju Samson led Rajasthan in the Indian T20 League 2022. He finished as the second-highest run-getter for the team. In 17 matches, he has managed to score 458 runs at an average of 28.63. He hit 2 half-centuries and a few notable cameos from the team.
