Bangladesh and India are playing the first Test match of the two-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Choudhary Stadium, Chattogram. After winning the toss, the KL Rahul-led India decided to bat first. In the first session, the left-arm spinner, Taijul Islam picked a big wicket of Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, during the first session, Australian commentator Brad Hogg mispronounced Islam’s name as ‘Taj Mahal’.

Readers might be aware that ‘Taj Mahal’ is one of the famous historical monuments of India. One can accept that any person can misspell another person’s name but misspelling ‘Tajul Islam’ as ‘Taj Mahal’ is a different kind of craziness. A renowned sports journalist pointed out the mistake and posted about it on Twitter. He wrote “Brad Hogg just referred to Taijul Islam as ‘Taj Mahal’. Back to mute. As cricket should be watched. #BANvsIND.

India has managed to recover from the early blows

Meanwhile, talking about the game, the World Number Two Test side had a poor start as they lost three wickets for just 48 runs. The team decided to promote Rishabh Pant to negate the left-arm spin from Taijul Islam. The former scored 46 off 45 balls including two sixes and six fours. However, he failed to convert his start into a big score as he chopped the ball onto the stumps.

At the time of writing, the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer are taking the team forward. The former completed his half-century with two back-to-back fours against Islam. On the other hand, Iyer is batting on 45. Both have put together 82 runs for the fifth wicket. They would be looking to stay not out till the end of the day and take the team to a formidable position. At the time of writing, India has amassed 194/4 in 60 overs with the last session of Day One in progress.
