India’s former attacking batsman Virender Sehwag recently posted a photo while mocking the Pakistan cricket team for their dramatic exit from the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, Pakistan’s chances of qualifying for the semifinals of the ODI World Cup 2023 seem very bleak considering their poor net run rate.

Virender Sehwag posted 2 back-to-back tweets which took social media to storm considering the hilarious responses the fans gave to his post. Sehwag posted a satirical caption as he mocked the Pakistan cricket team for only enjoying the biryani in India for the ODI World Cup 2023 considering their poor performance in the tournament.

Virender Sehwag’s tweet for Pakistan team’s Semi-final qualification in ODI World Cup 2023

Sehwag tweeted a photo in a blue background with the text bye bye Pakistan, considering the neighbours visited India after several years for the marquee tournament. The post caption read “Pakistan Zindabhaag ! Bas yahin tak tha jo tha. Hope you enjoyed the biryani and the hospitality. Have a safe flight back home. Bye Bye Pakistan ! #cwc23.”

Sehwag’s next tweet had an interesting caption which received enormous hilarious responses from the fans which said, “Pakistan ki khaas baat hai ki jis team ko Pakistan support karti hai, woh team Pakistan ki tarah khelne lagti hai 😂. Sorry Sri Lanka.”

Virender Sehwag highlighted Sri Lanka’s bad performance in the crucial match against New Zealand, which was the only hope for the Pakistan cricket team. However, Sri Lanka’s poor performance in the game led New Zealand towards an easy victory which gave them a secured position on the points table.

Pakistan can only qualify for the semifinals of the ODI World Cup 2023 under two scenarios.

Scenario one

If Pakistan bats first, they need to score 300 or more and they need to restrict England to a score of just 13. Pakistan need to maintain a margin of a minimum of 287 runs if they score more than 300 runs in Kolkata in their last match of the league stage to qualify for the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Scenario two

If Pakistan bowls first they need to bowl out England for 100 runs, they need to chase down the target within 2.3 overs, to win with around 285 balls to spare.
