The love affairs between the cricket and Bollywood world are not new for the Indian audience as they’ve seen many of their favourite stars from both fraternities getting into relationships. Some of them have even gone ahead and performed nuptials with each other.
The news of Modi and Sushmita being in a relationship has spread like wildfire with netizens failing to believe the surprise revelation from the former chairman of the Indian T20 league. Sushmita has been one of the top Bollywood actors of her time and has shared the screen with all the mega stars. The actor was last seen in the second season of the crime thriller web series ‘Aarya’ in 2021.
Lalit Modi served as the chairman of the Indian T20 League from 2008-2010. He also served as the chairman of the Champions League 20-20 competition for the same duration. The 56-year-old was suspended by the Indian cricket board after he was accused of misconduct, indiscipline and financial irregularities. Following the accusations, there was an investigation launched against Modi by the cricket board and he was banned for life after being found guilty by a committee in the year 2013. However, the businessman denied all the allegations against him and blamed his rivals for putting false accusations on him.
Modi fled the country and moved to London shortly before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched an investigation against him for his alleged financial irregularities. He has since then managed his family business. He has also given several interviews after moving to London where he has blamed former chairman of the Indian T20 league N Srinivasan for his sudden suspension from the Indian Cricket Board. Modi is considered as the pioneer of the Indian T20 league.
