Manchester United is interested in signing Bayern Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby – Reports

The Premier League team, Manchester United is interested in signing former Paris-Saint Germain and current Bayern Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby. According to the Daily Mail, the three times UEFA Champions League winners are targeting Diaby in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Frenchman has also been linked with other clubs as well like Arsenal and Newcastle United.

The report states the winger is not a priority for the Red Devils in the upcoming transfer window. However, Jadon Sancho has lacked form this season, and the inexperience of players such as Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri can force them to go for the winger from France. Sancho has scored just seven goals and three assists during the 2022-23 season.

Diaby joined Leverkusen in 2019 after leaving PSG, which he joined in 2018. Diaby played 34 games for the Parisians in the 2018-19 campaign but started only in 13 matches. In these games, he scored four goals and seven assists. If we talk about his Leverkusen journey, he has played 172 games and has a contract with them until 2025. So far he has scored 49 goals and 48 assists for the team.

In recent weeks, players from Bayer Leverkusen have been connected with Manchester United in addition to Moussa Diaby. The Red Devils are among those interested in Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, claims transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano. “Jeremie Frimpong remains one to watch this summer as his agent met with Barcelona, Bayern and Man United almost two months ago. Bayer Leverkusen hope to keep him but they’re aware of big club’s interest,” Romano wrote on his Twitter handle on Tuesday, June 13.

In 48 games across tournaments, Frimpong, who was notably a member of Manchester City‘s development squads, excelled for Leverkusen. He scored nine goals and provided 11 assists. Together with Diaby, the right-back’s sixth-place Bundesliga result enabled the German team to earn a spot in the UEFA Europa League for the upcoming season.
