Team India are currently busy playing the three-match T20I series against South Africa. On 28 September 2022, they kicked off the series in Thiruvananthapuram and won the match by eight wickets. After winning the T20I series against the Aussies, it was another good victory for the Men in Blue ahead of the 20-20 World Cup.

However, before the match, the Indian Cricket Board confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will miss the match as he felt some back pain during the practice session on 27 September. But. now several reports are circulating that the Indian pacer will miss the upcoming mega event in Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah played only two matches in the T20I series against the Aussies

According to reports, Jasprit Bumrah is going to miss the upcoming 20-20 World Cup. He has sustained a serious back stress fracture injury. However, he will not have surgery. But, as per sources, Bumrah will be out of action for four to six months. Even, he did not travel with the team to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Hence, it can be a major blow for the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, ahead of the World Cup. After getting sidelined due to a back injury after the England tour, he made a comeback in the T20I series against Australia. However, Jasprit Bumrah played only two matches in that series. He only took one wicket by conceding 73 runs in six overs from those matches.

Therefore, if he misses the World Cup, it will be a huge blow for Bumrah also. Since the Asia Cup 2022, India are dealing with death bowling woes. Hence, fans were expecting that arrival of Bumrah will help in solving that issues ahead of the World Cup. Along with Bhuvneshaw Kumar, only Jasprit Bumrah was there with vast experience in the announced bowling lineup for the World Cup. Now, as per reports, he will not be there and that might create problems in India’s hope of winning the 20-20 World Cup for the second time in their history.
