Massive blow to Bangalore as Harshal Patel leaves team’s bio-bubble due to death of sister
According to a report in Dainik Jagran, Bangalore fast bowler Harshal Patel has left the Bangalore’s bio-bubble due to the demise of his ailing sister. Patel has been part of the all the four games Bangalore has played so far. The pacer left the bubble after his team’s match against Mumbai in Pune on April 9, where his side won by seven wickets. The right-arm pacer took two wickets for 23 in the game.
Meanwhile, further reports suggest that the 31-year-old didn’t take the team bus which traveled to Mumbai for Pune. Reportedly, the former India U19 cricketer flew to his home in Haryana. Patel is set to rejoin the bubble before the team’s next game against Chennai. Notably, the game will be played on April 12 at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
“Unfortunately, Harshal had to leave the bio-bubble due to a death in his family. It was his sister. He did not take the team bus back to Mumbai from Pune,” an ITL source was quoted in the report.
“He will be rejoining the bubble before the next game against CSK on April 12,” the source added.

Subsequently, he was picked in the Indian team for the T20I series at home against New Zealand last November. Since then, he has been an integral part of the national team.
During the mega auction in February, he was bought back by the franchise at a price of 10.75 crores. This year, he has picked six wickets in four games, averaging 14.66 at an economy rate of 5.50.
Patel is one of the death overs-specialist with the ball for Bangalore. Not to forget, he can strike the ball down the order as he has a decent Indian T20 League career strike rate of 138.26, with the highest score of 36.
