Former Pakistan skipper Mohammed Hafeez has taken another shot at Virat Kohli. This happened during the England versus Netherlands game on Wednesday after Ben Stokes scored a masterful century. Seeing the ugly swipe taken at Virat Kohli, former England skipper Michael Vaughan posted a reply to Mohammed Hafeez.

Virat Kohli scored his 49th ODI century to go level with Sachin Tendulkar in Kolkata on Sunday. The former Indian skipper scored this century on the day he celebrated his 35th birthday.

Ben Stokes meanwhile scored 108 runs to help his side beat the Netherlands by 160 runs in Pune on Wednesday. This was the second win for England in the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament to lift them to the 7th place in the table.

Michael Vaughan shuts up Mohammed Hafeez with his reply –

After watching Ben Stokes score 108 runs on Wednesday, Mohammed Hafeez saw this as a chance to take a swipe at Virat Kohli. The 42-year-old took to Twitter and in the guise of praising Ben Stokes tried to insult the former Indian skipper.

Hafeez wrote “Savior of the ship @benstokes38. They good 100 under pressure anchoring the innings where required with aggressive intent to get maximum runs for the team to win at the end. Sheer example to differentiate Selfish vs Selfless approach” The former Pakistani player also tagged Michael Vaughan in the tweet.

Not one to let off such a taunt, Michael Vaughan came up with a blunt reply. “Great innings from Stokesy @MHafeez22. As was Virat’s on a difficult pitch in Kolkata against a better attack”

Mohammad Hafeez had criticized Virat Kohli after his 101 runs from 120 ball knock on Sunday versus South Africa. The knock was played on a very difficult surface to bat on as India scored 326 runs. South Africa were bowled out for 83 runs as Ravindra Jadeja picked 5/33 with the ball.

The Indians next face off against the Netherlands side on Sunday in Bengaluru. The Pakistanis meanwhile will pray for a Sri Lankan win on Thursday. If New Zealand beats Sri Lanka in Bengaluru then Pakistan will be all but knocked out of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. This will also set up a semi-final clash between India and New Zealand in Mumbai next Wednesday.
