‘Miss you in yellove, Lord’ – Fans react as Shardul Thakur and Deepak exchange jerseys after CSK vs KKR clash in IPL 2023

On Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders outplayed Chennai Super Kings at their own home in the IPL 2023 clash. Additionally, the unlikely win over the powerful Chennai at Chepauk has kept them in contention for the playoffs. Kolkata’s victory has created a lot of buzz on social media.
Meanwhile, a heart-winning scene from Sunday’s game has gone viral online. Deepak Chahar of Chennai and Shardul Thakur of Kolkata had an interaction after the high-voltage clash. Chahar and Thakur exchanged their team jerseys after the game in a touching display of friendship. CSK captioned the video as, “Cherry x Dhool. Just like old times.”

Fans on Twitter applauded Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur’s friendship. Many CSK fans were nostalgic to see Thakur back in the classic yellow shirt. Thakur was instrumental in Chennai’s win in both the 2018 and 2021 seasons of the tournament.
In the meantime, if Chennai Super Kings had won on Sunday, they would have become the first team to secure a playoff berth. Kolkata, on the other hand, had different plans, out-batting CSK on a tough Chepauk pitch to leap to seventh place in the points table.
The spin duo of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy helped Kolkata initially dismiss Chennai’s powerful batting line-up. Both mystery spinners were instrumental in limiting Chennai to 144 for 6. With the dew on the ground, Kolkata seemed to be the favourite to reach Chennai’s target.
To keep things interesting, Deepak Chahar went through the visitor’s top order in the powerplay. Kolkata skipper Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh then steered their team’s ship with a 99-run fourth-wicket partnership. The match was finally won by KKR with six wickets in hand and nine balls to spare. The Men in Purple and Gold must now win their last league game against the Lucknow Super Giants and hope that other results go their way
