Mohamed Salah becomes players with most left-footed goals in Premier League
Egyptian Footballer Mohamed Salah set a unique record in Premier League after Liverpool’s 6-1 win over Leeds United on Monday, April 17. The 30-year-old scored the goal in the 39th minute of the game after Cody Gakpo had given Liverpool the lead.
With this, Salah became the player with the most left-footed goals in the history of the Premier League. He now has 107 goals in the tournament with the left foot. In total, Salah has scored 135 goals in 223 Premier League matches. For Liverpool, he scored 182 goals in 297 games since his arrival in 2017. In the 64th minute, Salah strikes again to hit the back of the net to take the lead to 4-1. He also scored his second goal with the left foot as well.
While a big 1-6 defeat against Liverpool has threatened Leeds. Salah and Diogo Jota bagged braces, while Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez scored a goal each for the Reds. Luis Sinisterra scored Leeds’ only goal of the night in the 47th minute.
Salah makes a bold claim about Lieverpool’s draw with Arsenal
Recently, Mohamed Salah made a bold claim about Liverpool’s draw with Arsenal. Liverpool did a comeback against Arsenal to earn a 2-2 draw on April 9th. Salah missed a penalty against the Gunners. Salah said that the Reds dominated the game and that the performance should serve as a spark for the remainder of the season.
“[Arsenal] Top of the table, we played a good game against them, they are a really good team. But I think we dominated the game, especially in the second half; we were unlucky with some chances. So, hopefully, that will give us a push for the next games,” Salah said as quoted by Sportskeeda.
