Over the years, Ramiz Raja has maintained that match-fixing and spot-fixing offenders must be banned from cricket for life. A few years back when Mohammad Amir was making a comeback, the 1992 World Cup winner had said that he would disassociate himself from the game. However, the right-hander continued with his job as a broadcaster. Not to forget, he became the chairperson of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Meanwhile, recently, the former Pakistan skipper was asked about his stance on match-fixing offenders such as Amir, Mohammad Asif, and Salman Butt. Raja said that he has zero tolerance for such offenders even though the fans might think otherwise.

“Whoever is tainted, I’ve zero tolerance on it.”

“I’m absolutely clear. People say they’ve had the punishment, move on. But I’ve experienced such situations,” said Ramiz.

The way Ramiz Raja talks, it feels he is always right: Mohammad Amir

The two-time World Championship has been training at the National Cricket Academy in Pakistan. After his training, the former left-arm pacer spoke to the journalists. One of them asked Amir for his take on Ramiz’s recent statement. The 30-year-old expressed his disappointment by saying that Ramiz is an educated person who mustn’t make statements like these.

Vo bohot padhe likhe aadmi hai, koi nahi soch raha tha ki ye iss tarah muh uthaake kisi pe bhi ilzaam laga denge (He’s a well read person, that’s why no one thought that he would make such statements). With the way he talks, it feels only he is right and everyone else is wrong. Every person as their own opinion. 100 people will not agree with me, and maybe 10 will. Someone will like it and someone will not. But if you feel that only you are right and everyone else is wrong… that’s not how it works,” Amir said.
