Pakistan has always boasted of a strong pace bowling unit. It has been the breeding ground of some legendary pace bowlers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar to name a few. The legacy these legends have set has been carried forward by the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali, and Haris Rauf in the present times. The very potent pace battery of Pakistan will be in action against West Indies in the upcoming ODI series starting on June 8.

Mohammad Rizwan, the talented wicket-keeper batter of Pakistan has said that the English cricketers praise the Pakistani bowling attack as the best in the world. Rizwan had recently been a part of the Sussex team in the County Championship. It is during his time at the English domestic circuit that he came across the English players praising the Pakistani pace attack.

To quote Rizwan from a conversation with The News- “Our bowling attack is the best in the world. It feels really great when I hear some English players praise our bowlers.”

In the same conversation, Rizwan also spoke about the weather conditions in Pakistan. As Pakistan is also experiencing a heat wave like India, it is expected that the players will struggle to play in the conditions. Excessive heat is one of the reasons that the matches have been scheduled to start at 4 PM local time. However, Rizwan said that heat could not be an excuse for the players because as professionals they are expected to perform in different conditions.

“The weather is hot without a doubt but it is not an excuse for us, we have been playing in different challenging conditions since Under-19,”- said Rizwan. Notably, during his recent time in Sussex, he shared the dressing room with India’s star batter Cheteswar Pujara. Pujara was in great touch throughout the season and has been scoring runs for fun.

Rizwan also spoke about the time with Pujara and also praised the efforts of the Indian batter and said that he learned a lot from him. “I talked to Puajara regarding cricket in the County Championship and learnt a lot of things from him,”- Rizwan stated.
