‘Mohammed Shami has announced his arrival’- Twitter In Awe Of Star Pacer’s Brilliance Against Australia
Mohammed Shami was not included in the Indian 20-20 World Cup squad initially, however, an injury to Jasprit Bumrah led to his comeback to the team. Due to an injury and a covid 19 infection, the star pacer had been out of the team for some time.
Upon his return, he did not get much game time in the warmup against Australia. He was only given the ball in hand to deal with the last over of the match. With just 11 runs needed in the last over, Shami had a lot at stake. The star pacer did not disappoint, taking four wickets in the over while conceding only four runs.
He gave up two doubles on the first two balls. Then, Shami was almost hit for a six on the third ball, but Virat Kohli’s brilliance on the field helped him get his first wicket. His awareness was on point on the next ball, as he ran out Ashton Agar with a direct hit.
Finally, Shami bowled two brilliant yorkers to uproot the wickets of Josh Inglis and Kane Richardson. These two deliveries quickly became the talk of the town, as India’s death bowling woes have been a major source of concern. The 32-year-old could be the answer to the Men in Blue’s problems.
After the match, captain Rohit Sharma was also all praises for Shami. He said the plan was to give Shami the ball in a challenging situation as he is returning to the team after a while. “He (Shami) is coming back after a long time, so we wanted to give him an over. Wanted to give him a challenge and let him bowl the final over, and you saw what he did,” Rohit said.
In the meantime, fans were in awe of the pacer as he bowled the brilliant final over. “Mohammed Shami has announced his arrival with an impressive last over to guide India to a nervy win,” a Twitter user said.

Those who were criticizing and trolling captain @ImRo45 & team management for picking Mohammed Shami instead of Siraj for World Cup are in the mud now.
