Mohammed Siraj opens up about his heated on-field exchange with Litton Das
On Day Two of the ongoing first Tes between Bangladesh and India, Mohammed Siraj and Litton Das had an on-field struggle. During Bangladesh’s innings, the right-hander, Das defended a ball from Siraj. After this, the latter came up to the batter and said some words. The very next ball, Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper batter lost his wicket as the ball stayed low.
At the end of the day, the home side had lost eight wickets with only 133 runs on the board. Meanwhile, after the day’s play, the right-arm pacer was asked about the incident. To which, he said that he was trying to remind his counterpart that this is Test cricket and not T20 cricket.
“No, nothing. I said, ‘Ye T20 format nahi hai, ye Test cricket hai (this isn’t T20, this is Test cricket. Play sensible cricket.’”

Talking about the game, Bangladesh has been bowled out for 150 runs, trailing by 252. Kuldeep Yadav, who took four wickets on Day Two, completed his five-wicket haul in the ongoing Day Three. After bowling out the opposition, the KL Rahul-led side has decided to bat again. One could reason that the batters might want to get some runs under their belt before going into the Test series against Australia next year.
The series will be played in February-March next year. Meanwhile. the World Number Two Test side has amassed 36/0 in 15 overs at the time of writing before the Lunch Break. Rahul and Shubman Gill have managed to play out the tricky time of the first session of the day. The stand-in India skipper has scored 20 runs and counting. On the other hand, Gill has scored 15 and counting. Both players were guilty of throwing their wickets away after a good start on Day One. This time around, they would look to make the most of the second chance.
