MS Dhoni has been synonymous with the Chennai franchise in the Indian T20 League. He has been leading the team since the inception of the cash-rich league. The World Cup-winning captain enjoys great popularity in Tamil Nadu owing to his association with the team. As per the latest news, MSD is set to become a producer for a Tamil movie. He has apparently joined hands with Tamil superstar Nayanthara. The actress could be seen playing the female lead in Dhoni’s first production venture.

If reports are to be believed the film will hit the floors later this month. Notably, Harbhajan Singh has also tried his hands in Tamil movies earlier. He did a cameo appearance in the movie named ‘Dikkiloona.’

Speaking of Chennai in Indian T20 League 2022, their chances of making it to the playoffs is hanging in the balance. They have won only four of their 11 matches and are currently at the ninth spot in the points table.

Meanwhile, MSD has returned to the role of the captaincy of the Chennai team after he stepped down ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League 2022. He handed over the responsibilities to the star all-rounder of the team, Ravindra Jadeja. But both the team and Jadeja were having a terrible time. While Chennai was finding it difficult to get themselves on the winning ways, Jadeja’s performance was also not up to the mark. Thus after 8 matches, Jadeja decided to relinquish captaincy and return the responsibilities to MSD.

Since MSD’s return to the helm of the team, Chennai has two of their three matches and has kept their hope for the playoffs alive. For the Men in Yellow to be a part of the top four, Chennai needs to win all of their remaining matches by big margins and then wait for the results of the other teams. Their next assignment is against Mumbai today on the 12th of May. The two teams will battle it out in the second ‘El Classico’ of the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
