‘Mujhe kyun toda’ -Fans baffled as Prithvi Shaw’s friend’s car smashed with a baseball bat for refusing to click a selfie

India batter Prithvi Shaw faced a difficult situation as his friend was attacked by some fans. Apparently, the cricketer was asked by some fans for a selfie. The incident reportedly occurred outside the Mansion Club of the Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai on February 15. Accused, Sana Gill and Shobit Thakur approached the 2018 U19 World Cup-winning skipper for a selfie which the latter obliged.

However, the duo of Gill and Thakur requested the same once again. At this point, the right-hander denied it. Subsequently, the manager asked the duo to leave the premises. However, they allegedly weren’t willing to take no for an answer. They reportedly waited for Shaw and his friend outside the venue. They tailed the vehicle and smashed it with a baseball bat.

Apparently, as reported by ABP news, the vehicle was stopped for a while at the Jogeshwari Link Road Lotus petrol pump. The accused thought that Shaw was inside the vehicle. However, as it turned out, he reportedly made it out of the hotel in a different vehicle. Furthermore, the accused even blackmailed his friend for ₹50,000.

After the incident, the Mumbaikar approached the Oshiwara Police Station to register a complaint without any delay. The police have stated that they are currently investigating the incident. They have booked Gill and Thakur under sections 384,143, 148,149, 427,504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Shaw made his return to the national side for the T20I series against New Zealand last month. However, he didn’t play a single game as Shubman Gill was doing well in the ODIs before. Shaw will now play for Delhi in the upcoming Men’s Indian T20 League 2023 later this year.
