New Zealand set to tour Bangladesh for ODI and Test series

The much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off in October. The first match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, where the two finalists from the last edition, England and New Zealand, will lock horns with each other. The venues for the knockout games and semi-final have been announced. The final is set to be hosted by Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
Bangladesh will play their opening game of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Afghanistan on October 7 in Dharamsala. After the completion of the mega event, the Kiwis will tour Bangladesh after a long wait of 10 years for the ODI and Test series in the month of September and November. The three-match ODI series will be a practice for both teams ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023.
The Tests are a part of the 2023-25 World Test Championship: BCB
As per the schedule revealed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the tour will start on September 21. All three ODI matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The Test series will be played in the month of November after the completion of the ODI World Cup. This series will be the part of 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle.
The Blackcaps last visited Bangladesh back in 2013 for a full series. The two-match Test series ended in a draw and the three-match ODI series was won by Bangladesh, 3-0, and the only T20I was won by the New Zealand side.
“The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the itinerary for New Zealand’s tour which includes three ODIs and two Tests and will be played on either side of the ICC Cricket World Cup India 2023. This will be New Zealand’s first ODI and Test series in Bangladesh after 2013. The Tests are a part of the 2023-25 World Test Championship and the first WTC series for Bangladesh in the new cycle,” the BCB was quoted as saying in a statement.

ODI series:
- First ODI: September 21, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
- Second ODI: September 23, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
- Third ODI: September 26, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
Test series:
- First Test: November 28 to December 2
- Second Test: December 6 to December 10
