Indian batting star Shubman Gill achieved a new landmark during his knock of 51 on Sunday against the Netherlands. The 24-year-old became the first batter to score 2000 international runs during the calendar year of 2023.

The 24-year-old was in full flow on Sunday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Shubman Gill along with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scored half-centuries as India posted a massive 410 versus the Netherlands.

Shubman Gill had missed the first two games of the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign owing to dengue. Once he has made his return, the 24-year-old has been in good form with the bat for India.

Shubman Gill scores 2000 runs for India in 2023 –

Star Indian opener Shubman Gill became the first batter to score 2000 runs for the calendar year in 2023. The 24-year-old has been having a great year as far as ODI Cricket goes as he scored nearly 1500 runs this year.

On Sunday, Shubman Gill was in full flow as he scored yet another half-century versus the Netherlands. The Indian opener hit four sixes with one of the hits going to kiss the roof of the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

2023 began on a bright note for Shubman Gill as he scored 208 runs during the Hyderabad ODI. This made him the youngest-ever player to score a double century in ODI Cricket. So far Gill has hit 1449 runs with an average of 63 and a strike rate of 103.72 with 5 centuries and 7 half-centuries.

In the test format, Shubman Gill has played 5 games this year scoring 230 runs with a best of 128. His only century came against Australia during the Ahmedabad test earlier this year. The youngster has also played 11 T20 games for India and scored 304 runs with a best of 126 not out versus New Zealand.

In the six games during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament, Gill has played seven games. The right-handed batter has scored 270 runs with three half-centuries with a best of 92 versus Sri Lanka in Mumbai.

After the game against the Netherlands, both India and Gill are set to take on New Zealand. The game on Wednesday in Mumbai will be the first Semi-Finals of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. Shubman Gill will be hoping to score his elusive ODI World Cup ton in Mumbai on Wednesday.
