Defending champions England will take on underdogs Bangladesh in their second 2023 ODI World Cup match on Tuesday, October 10. The two will meet at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala in the first match of the double-header day. England needs a win to open their account after suffering a humiliating defeat against New Zealand in the tournament opener in Ahmedabad.

Defending a target of 283, England were thrashed by nine wickets as the two Kiwi left-handed batters, Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, stitched a record partnership. On the other hand, Bangladesh are coming on the back of a convincing six-wicket win over Afghanistan on Saturday at the same venue where they are set to lock horns next.

Weather Report

The 2023 ODI World Cup warm-up matches were spoiled by rain. However, so far, no official matches have been ruined by the weather. Fortunately, the weather for ENG vs BAN is also favourable as a sunny and bright day is predicted during the match. The forecast calls for mostly sunny weather during the day, although there is a chance of rain in the hours leading up to the match. A full-fledged match is on the cards for the cricket fans.

HPCA Stadium Pitch Report

Dharamshala’s HPCA Stadium is a batting-friendly surface and is expected to assist the batters in the upcoming match as well. Pacers are likely to have an advantage in generating movement and consistent bounce while the spinners play a crucial role in the middle overs. The venue’s outfield came under fire as it was rated “average” by the Cricket Governing Body following Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman’s lucky escape from injury.
