 Pakistan Link Found In Tampering Of Cricketer Arshdeep Singh’s Wikipedia Page – Reports

On 4 September 2022, India lost to Pakistan in the ‘Super Four’ of the ongoing Asia Cup. In the group stage, India managed to win against them by five wickets. But, this time around Pakistan managed to win the match by five wickets. However, during the match, India had a chance to take the wicket of Asif Ali as he got an edge that went straight to Arshdeep Singh.

But, the youngster missed that easy catch and gave Asif Ali a lifeline. However, Asif Ali’s cameo helped Pakistan to chase down the target in 19.5 overs. But, due to that drop cath, fans started to target Arshdeep Singh with some anti-national comments. Even, his description on the Wikipedia page got changed. Now, as per reports, the Pakistan link has been found tampering with that page.

The same IP address for Arshdeep Singh’s Wikipedia has been found in references to the Pakistani military and Parvez Musharaf – Reports

According to the reports, it was showing that Singh had been selected to play for the “Khalistani national cricket team” on Wikipedia. But, the IP address, that was used to edit Arshdeep Singh’s description, has been found related to Pakistan only. It has been found the same IP address has been used for references to the Pakistani military and Parvez Musharaf.

In 2014, the same IP address edited the UAE Wikipedia page. It had critical references to the Pakistani military. This same address only helped to insert the Khalistani reference into Arshdeep’s Wikipedia page. However, regarding that, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology called Wikipedia executives in India. They were looking to seek an explanation on how Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh’s Wikipedia page entry was changed to reflect the Khalistan association.

Speaking of the match, India batted first and scored 181 runs by losing seven runs in 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored 60 runs off 44 balls. In reply, Pakistan fought hard and they chased down the target in 19.5 overs. Mohammad Nawaz won the player of the match award for his blistering knock of 42 runs off 20 balls during the chase.
