‘Par bhaijan humare vale toh 150+ phekte hai’ – Fans bash Pakistan as a stat exposes dearth of quality in bowling attack
This year, Pakistan‘s pace bowling in Tests, especially at home, has been terribly exposed in front of different opposition. This year, they played host to Australia, England, and currently New Zealand. For the first time in many years, these teams touched the shores of the Asian country. However, the preconceived historical season has turned out to be a nightmare for Pakistan.
In the three-match series against Australia in March this year, the bowlers gave away more than 1500 runs in the series. The first two games ended in a draw. Not to forget, they had a chance to chase down 506 runs to create history in the second game but they couldn’t. Eventually, they lost the series by 1-0 as they lost the last game by 115 runs.
Early this month, they hosted England for as many Tests. In the first game, the bowlers conceded 506/4 on the first day of the game. Eventually, they lost the game by 74 runs on a flat track. In the second and third games, Abrar Ahmed, the mystery spinner, and other spinners gave some control to the Babar Azam-led side. However, the pacers failed to cash in and the team lost the series 0-3.
The same story is being continued in the ongoing Test against New Zealand. Apparently, Abrar and Nauman Ali have taken two wickets each and once again, the pacers are failing to pick wickets for a long time. Meanwhile, a famous Pakistani statistician shared the stats of Pakistani pacers in the last three Tests excluding the ongoing one.
According to his numbers, the pacers have taken only one wicket in 77.4 overs and averaged 320. Clearly, these numbers are appalling.

No matter what conditions you play in. That is shambolic.

How irony that Pakistan fans do chest thumping about fast bowlers when the reality is this..

Not good, our much talked about fast bowling resources seem to be suited for T20s only… We don't know how to do reverse swing on such pitches…

So suddenly its the incapability of our fast bowlers. But in last series it was all due to the bad selections as we had Marshalls and Lillees warming the bench, right?
